Pet Resources is responsible for the humane treatment of animals in Hillsborough County and operates a shelter that accepts domestic animals regardless of breed, size, or medical condition, and attempts to find them permanent or foster homes.

The department handles pet registration tags, and offers spay/neuter vouchers for the pets of income-qualifying residents.
